Pennsylvania Sled Dog Club Meeting - May 30th, 2009
Greetings!
Blake and I drove home from the Duluth airport yesterday afternoon making
comments on how good it was to be home and greeted with cold clouds, sleet, rain
and snow! It was really beautiful in PA and it was also tempting to delay our
trip in Detroit and go see my sister. She was getting ready to go ride her
horses in beautiful sunny fields...
Our pups were happy to see us and everyone was happy and healthy back home
thanks to Karl and Erin. Karl spent the weekend taking care of about 100
animals as he was caring for both our kennel and my mothers small hobby farm!
Thank you Karl!!
We truly had a fantastic trip to Pennsylvania and met so many wonderful people!
What a great club with so much enthusiasm and love for their dogs. We were
grateful to have had the opportunity to meet everyone. There were several people
we had gotten to know through the internet, and it was really nice to meet them
face to face. We could have easily spent many more hours talking to everyone at
the event. We enjoyed sharing our stories and experiences with everyone and felt
our presentation went well despite my cold. I was able to speak pretty well with
the help of cough drops, and thankfully Blake was healthy!
Thank you VERY much to Pat Bach for arranging a beautiful booth of items for
sale to support of 2010 Iditarod team and Bonnie Lundberg and Joan Shepherd for
mailing items to sell and raffle. Thank you to everyone who came by and
supported our team.
We are both back to work today, myself at the clinic and Blake in the Superior
National Forest... more soon!

Teacher Kari Green's 7th grade English class at Monticello Middle school painted DOG NAME Signs for Jen and Blake Frekings kennel.
Each sign had a team of 3 students and they had to research the name
and come up with a design. Each team also wrote a letter to
Jen & Blake explaining how they came up with the design & also
wished them well in the Iditarod ( the letters are priceless ).
VERY fun !! Thanks to all the wonderful students and to the teachers
who allowed their students to have so much fun !!!
